Private Hire Car Driver's Vocational Licence (PDVL)

Private Hire Car Driver's Vocational Licence (PDVL) Training Course

PDVL EXAM

Yesterday 29th January 2018, I just took my PDVL exam. I was very nervous as I told myself I do not want to waste time and money to retake again.

Therefore, just one day before ( which was Sunday) the exam, I studied real hard. I studied all the highlighted portion (which our trainer, Ken told us to highlight) and also did the online mock papers.

As I was told by someone that there are total 4 sets of paper per exam, so in order for me not to miss out any of those, I did multiple times of revision online.

Basically, the online platform which you can do your PDVL exam revision is @ TP Tests and the PDF copy of the FAQ private hire car driver's vocational licence commencement can be found here.

One of the methods as told by our Purely Uber Drivers Group Chat member for Paper 2 revision is to try to practise till you get perfect score consistently because it is all about factual stuffs (demerit points, fine, suspension or revoked etc)

Other strategy is try to focus on Paper 1 (Module 1 -5) revision first on the exam day itself as the questions can be quite tricky if you do not fully understand what are the questions trying to ask you.
After you managed to pass Paper 1 (Good luck and hope you can clear it!), you can make full use of the approximately 1.5 hours break to focus on Paper 2 (Module 6 & 7) which I spent about 20 minutes eating my lunch and the rest of the time I try to use my short term memory to remember all the scheduled offences and did a few more rounds of online revision.

Lastly, I just want to share one of the greatest mistake that I made in my exam:

Do remember that PDVL stands for Private Hire Car Driver's Vocational Licence and not Private Driver's Vocational Licence!

GOOD LUCK to every uber drivers here and I shall see you on the road next time!

ALL THE BEST!
