My Costly Mistake

Image
Some mistakes should learn from other drivers instead It was just another night fetching a young couple to their destination, however, I didn't expect it to be a costly one. While we were reaching the destination by following Uber Map, I was directed to a narrow lane just right before Park Lane . This narrow lane is known as  Kirk Terrace .  It was an up slope drive and after a while, I saw a gantry. Without much hesitation or reading at the gantry price list (as I assume there will be at least 10 minutes grace period). To my shocking surprise, after dropping off the young couple just right after the gantry (who also doesn't seem to know that they have already arrived 15 Sophia Road) and immediately exit the gantry which literally all happened in less than 30 seconds, $5 plus was been charged to my cashcard. Ouch~! Never again I will go to that narrow lane. Somehow I just feel that the place is like a booby trap which lead you all the way to the

Driving From East to West in Singapore

Image
If you were to drive from the East to the West of Singapore, it is roughly about 50km , while driving from North to South takes around 27km . Today we shall compare the trip of driving from East to the West based on  40km plus trip as given below: The first picture shows that the trip fare is $31.30 for 41.94km driven while the second pic shows that the trip was $34.18 for 46.12km driven (ignoring the boost or surge). Therefore the price per km driven for the first trip is $0.746 while the price per km for the second trip is $0.741. The variation of $0.005 per km can be due to time factor. Therefore ignoring time factor (because a day drive and a night drive can be different due to traffic condition), if you drive from east to the west, your fare (without boost or surge) will be around $37  for a 50km trip. This piece of information is good to know because if are a driver for Uber driving in Singapore from the East to the West and you check that there is a big variatio

First Time Using Uber Rides

Image
First Uber Ride I still remember the first time I try booking Uber as a rider , initially I just wanted to explore how the app really works and I didn't know that after I tapped on the button " REQUEST UBERX ", someone literally drove to my block downstair and waited for me. I was so anxious and surprised it really works, but at the same time I was panicked as I didn't know how to cancel the request. Initially, that Uber driver who already reached under my block told me to call the customer service support to check with them on how to cancel request, however at that point of time I didn't know what number to call and it took me so much time and finally that Uber driver decided to cancel my request. Phew! And that was my first experience testing out the Uber rider app. It just feel so amazing! Subsequently, after my first few rides with Uber I decided to post a video on YouTube on " How to take a Uber ride in Singapore " The reason for
